Economic Crunch Still Yields Growth for Local Companies
 
FT. MITCHELL, Wed. Sept. 9, 2009 – Stock markets, housing markets and job markets may be slow on the rebound as the economy begins to turn around. However, there are 30 signs of growth in Northern Kentucky.
 
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special Cocktail Reception, Wed., Oct. 28 at the Newport Syndicate, 18 E. Fifth St. 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., to announce the 2009 “Emerging 30.” Reservations are accepted online, www.nkychamber.com.
 
“The Emerging 30 companies represent the tremendous growth of our region’s economy,” said Randy Rawe, investment advisory representative of Roeding Group Companies and chair of the “Emerging 30” committee.  “These companies are a prime example of the true entrepreneurial spirit.”
 
The program, celebrating its 10th year, acknowledges the accomplishments businesses that have experienced and sustained extraordinary growth. In some cases, some businesses retain successful growth for more than eight consecutive years. The revenues of this year’s winners increased at an average rate of at least 15 percent per year, employed more than 697 employees in the area and have averaged 123 percent growth over the last three years.
 
 “Emerging 30” applicants included all three-year and older small companies headquartered in Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties, or current members of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. The nominees were also required to have at least 15 percent per year average growth for the past three years, exceed $250,000 in revenues and have fewer than 150 employees.
